LINCOLN, Neb. (KGFW) – Daily positive coronavirus tests continue to trend lower in Nebraska, after increasing in the second-half of July.

214 positive tests were reported Wednesday. About 1,200 tests were administered that day – the lowest since early May.

152 current COVID-19 hospital patients account for 3.8% of total statewide capacity. Hospitalizations appear to have plateaued over the past two-weeks. They had trended upward since 95 were reported July 11. Total cumulative hospitalizations number 1,880.

Despite the recent increases, Nebraska’s cumulative positive test rate continues to fall – down to just over 9.4% – as nearly all tests continue to come back negative.

According to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services dashboard, 309,938 tests had been administered as of Aug. 12.

29,244 have come back positive.

21,463 have recovered.

356 have died.
