LINCOLN, Neb. (KGFW) – Gov. Pete Ricketts has vetoed several bills.

LB238 would have required continuous witness of executions and allow masks for executioners. Ricketts says law already protects their identities and masks would make a mockery of the process.

LB1004 and LB1004A would have granted parole eligibility two years before mandatory release dates.

LB515 would have made it harder for schools to “reassign, suspend, or expel” students for violence or drugs.

LB607 and LB607A would have imposed new licensing requirements on manicure and pedicurists.

And LB1089 would have mandated that all students complete a FAFSA. Effectively forcing every family to disclose their finances to the federal government or their student won’t graduate.

It’s too late for lawmakers to attempt an override.
