(KGFW) – A new report shows career and technical education is leading to higher high school graduation rates in Nebraska and South Dakota.
The study, a partnership between state education leaders and the Regional Education Laboratory program, found that students who completed a sequence of Career and Technical Education courses were 7% more likely to graduate on time and 10% more likely to enroll in postsecondary education within two years.
The study also found that CTE concentrators were 3% more likely to earn a postsecondary award than non CTE students.
CTE concentrators were 1% less likely to obtain a bachelor’s degree or higher.
