Husker senior Lexi Sun will return to the University of Nebraska for one more season with the Husker volleyball program. The All-America outside hitter announced on Wednesday she will use her final year of eligibility, which the NCAA granted to student-athletes due to COVID-19 interruptions. Sun earned AVCA Third-Team All-America accolades this past season, as well as All-Big Ten First Team and AVCA All-North Region honors for the second straight year. The two-time All-American led the Huskers last season with 3.64 kills per set and added 2.21 digs per set.
Three Nebraska softball players were honored by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday. Senior outfielder Tristen Edwards and freshman shortstop Billie Andrews were named to the All-Big Ten First Team, while junior pitcher Karlee Seevers was Nebraska’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner.

– Cam Taylor-Britt is a first-team honoree on Athlon’s preseason All-Big Ten team. Linebacker JoJo Domann and kicker Connor Culp were named to the second team. Defensive lineman Ben Stille was named to the third team, and safety Deontai Williams to the fourth team.
– Scott Frost is No. 47 in CBS Sports’ ranking of Power Five head coaches. Alabama’s Nick Saban in No. 1. The highest rated coach in the Big Ten is Ohio State’s Ryan Day who comes in at No. 4.
– Backup running back Ronald Thompkins has entered the transfer portal. Thompkins is the third Husker player that has entered the transfer portal since spring ball ended,
– In recruiting news: Nebraska has made the top three for MJ Morris and the top ten for fellow 2022 quarterback Conner Harrell.
The NSAA Board of Directors voted 8-0 in favor of sanctioning Girls Wrestling starting with the 2021-2022 school year.
