The nationally ranked Nebraska baseball team will close the regular season this weekend at Hawks Field with a three game series against the Michigan Wolverines. Game one begins Friday at Noon. The winners of eight straight, the Huskers have already clinched the Big Ten title, and are guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Tournament. That field will be announced Monday.
The Creighton Baseball team is the No. 2 seed in the Big East Tournament and will play No. 3 Seton Hall in the opening game this afternoon at 1:30.
3rd-seeded Omaha will face 2nd-seeded North Dakota State in the Summit League Baseball Tournament at at Tal Anderson Field in Omaha, tonight at 6:00.
Husker defensive line coach Tony Tuioti has received a contract extension through 2022 and pay raise. Now entering his third year at Nebraska, Tuioti will now make $400,000 a year. He was previously making a base figure of $375,000.

Five members of the UNK track and field team will be in Allendale, Michigan this weekend for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships. Redshirt juniors Tiara Schmidt and Logan Prater have both qualified in two events, Schmidt in the shot put and hammer and Prater in the shot and discus. The list of qualifiers also includes true freshman high jumper Abby Everitt, redshirt sophomore Luke Stuckey in the 1,500 meter run and redshirt freshman Brayden Sorensen in the high jump. A top 12 finish in any individual event is good for All-American status with the top eight earning first-team accolades.
The Tri-City Storm completed Phase I of the 2021 USHL Draft on Wednesday by making seven selections in the ten-round draft. The Storm selected five forwards, two defensemen, and no goaltenders. Phase II of the 2021 USHL Draft is scheduled to begin today at 1:00.
