The Nebraska football team held their fifth practice of the fall yesterday. Speaking with the media after the workout, offensive coordinator Matt Lubick said a more experienced roster has made this fall different from previous years. Offensive line coach Greg Austin said he’s seeing more leadership from returning players, and it’s making a difference. The Huskers return to the practice field this morning. They open the season with a Week-Zero road game at Illinois, Saturday August 28th. Kickoff will be at noon.

The University on Nebraska is seeking nominations for the Memorial Stadium POW/MIA Chair. November 11th, 2018, marked the 100th anniversary of the armistice that ended the hostilities of World War I. To commemorate this event, Memorial Stadium designated a special POW/MIA chair. Each game, a veteran of U.S. military service takes his or her post next to this unoccupied chair in honor of the more than 800 Nebraskans lost in combat. The unoccupied chair is located in North Memorial Stadium Section 33, Row 18, Seat 27.

The U.S. women’s indoor volleyball team is one win away from securing an Olympic medal. The Americans (including former Huskers Jordan Larson, Justine Wong-Orantes and Kelsey Robinson) play Serbia tonight at 11:00 p.m in the semifinals.
