Ten members of the Nebraska football team have been named to the Senior Bowl preseason watch list. The list includes six Blackshirts, including Damion Daniels (DL), Marquel Dismuke (S), JoJo Domann (LB), Ben Stille (DL), Cam Taylor-Britt (CB) and Deontai Williams (S). Offensive players recognized include Austin Allen (TE), Adrian Martinez (QB), Samori Toure (WR) and Travis Vokolek (TE). Nebraska is one of six programs nationally with at least 10 members on the preseason watch list. The Reese’s Senior Bowl game will be played February 5th, 2022, and will be broadcast on the NFL Network.

The Nebraska football team is holding their 13th practice of the fall this morning. They open the season at Illinois Saturday, August 28th, kickoff will be at noon.

The non-conference schedule for the Nebraska women’s basketball team was revealed today. The 11-game non-conference schedule includes a Big Ten/ACC Challenge game at Wake Forest and a pair of Thanksgiving tournament games in San Diego. The Husker women will host Creighton, Drake, Indiana State, Maine, Wyoming, Alabama A&M, North Carolina Central and Prairie View A&M. Fans will get their first chance to see the Husker women on Monday, Nov. 1st when they host Midland in an exhibition game.

– The top two teams from the Central Regional advance to the Little League World Series Aug. 19-29 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The Union Omaha soccer club today announced that they have signed Lexington native Yoskar ”Edu” Galvan-Mercado to its 2021 roster. The 17-year-old midfielder signed the first-ever academy contract in club history and will join the first team immediately. While at Lexington from 2017-2021, Galvan-Mercado was named to the 2021 Boys super-state second team and the Boys Class B all-state team.
