The Huskers have hit the road today for the contest at Illinois on Saturday. It’s not the same Illinois team that Nebraska lost to in 2020, as former Wisconsin and Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema starts his tenure in Champaign. Head Coach Scott Frost gave his thoughts on the change…

The Huskers can be heard tomorrow on KGFW as kickoff is set for noon.

Still no depth chart released by either team, but for Husker fans looking for an answer as to who will start at cornerback opposite of Cam Taylor-Britt, defensive coordinator Erik Chinander isn’t ready to say. He named three players—Quinton Newsome, Braxton Clark and Tyreke Johnson—who all may see playing time opposite Taylor-Britt. The other question mark remains who will start at the running back spot.

Nebraska 2022 quarterback commit Richard Torres dazzled in his first game of the season. Torres, who plays for San Antonio Southside High School, tossed seven first-half touchdowns Thursday night

The Husker commit finished with eight total touchdown passes in a 62-7 win.

The Nebraska volleyball team’s season opener with Tulsa has been canceled in accordance with COVID-19 protocols. The Husker Invite schedule now includes three matches for the weekend at the Devaney Center. On Friday, Kansas State and Colgate meet at 11:00 a.m., followed by the originally-scheduled Colgate-Nebraska match at 6:30. The tournament wraps up Saturday with Kansas State-Nebraska at 4:00.

In accordance with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department Directed Health Measure announced Tuesday, Nebraska Athletics and University of Nebraska-Lincoln leadership will follow a reinstituted face covering mandate for all indoor spaces in athletic venues. The new DHM runs through Sept. 30th and applies to all Husker home competitions.

For all Nebraska home volleyball matches (through at least Sept. 30), the face covering mandate will apply to all in attendance, for Football fans attending the September home games against Fordham (Sept. 4) and Buffalo (Sept. 11) are strongly encouraged to wear an appropriate face covering when on campus property.
