MARTINEZ – CORRECTING MISTAKES
One of the more disappointing parts of Saturday’s season opening loss to Illinois was the up-and-down play of four year starting quarterback Adrian Martinez.
Martinez noted in his post-practice press conference on Monday that the change in game plan due to a new defensive front did challenge him….

FROST PREACHES CONSISTENCY TO EARN PLAYING TIME
Plenty of fresh faces saw action on Saturday for the Husker football team including Gabe Ervin, the first true freshman running back to ever start a season opener for Nebraska.
Other names were noticeably absent in the loss – including second year wideout Zavier Betts who did not record a single snap.
When asked about Betts’ playing time, Head Coach Scott Frost noted at his post practice press conference on Monday that players will need to consistently perform in practice to contribute on game day….
The Huskers wrapped up their Monday practice with a padded practice following a film session Monday morning. Nebraska returns to action on Saturday for their matchup with Fordham.
HUSKERS SPECIAL TEAMS FALTER IN LOSS TO ILLINOIS
The Huskers offense outgained the Illinois offense, the defense had key plays throughout the contest, but the Nebraska special teams showed little improvement from years prior in the loss in Champaign on Saturday.
Head Coach Scott Frost adds it’s the same song and dance as before….
