BIG TEN TO AIR 9/11 HUSKER DOCUMENTARY
The Big Ten Network will air the story of the Tunnel Walk from Nebraska’s 2001 game against Rice, the first major-college football game following the 9/11 attack.
The half-hour program titled, “The B1G Story: Tunnel Walk Tribute,” airs Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and repeats at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, 2 a.m. Wednesday and 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
It is described as “the story of the emotional Tunnel Walk tribute to the nation’s first responders in the first sporting event at Nebraska following the events of Sept. 11, 2001.”
NEBRASKA LOSES O-LINE RECRUIT TO FORMER BIG 12 RIVAL
Former Nebraska offensive line commitment Valen Erickson made a change on Monday when he announced a flip to Missouri.
The lineman out of Chicago had committed to Nebraska in July after visiting Lincoln several times. Erickson was Nebraska’s only offensive lineman in the 2022 class at this time.

Nebraska opened as an 11-point favorite over Buffalo ahead of the teams’ matchup at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
HUSKER VOLLEYBALL PREPARES FOR UPSET-MINDED CREIGHTON
A big match awaits Nebraska in the Huskers’ first road test of the season. Unranked but soon-to-be-ranked Creighton is 6-0 on the season. Among the wins is a sweep of No. 3 Kentucky on Saturday.
The Huskers, now No. 3 after replacing Kentucky, swept the Ameritas Players Challenge but did find fierce competition against Omaha, winning in 5 sets.
The Bluejays have dropped just two sets, both to Southern California in a five-set victory Friday.
CAFFEY NAMED DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nebraska volleyball senior middle blocker Kayla Caffey was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Caffey paced the Huskers as No. 4 Nebraska went 3-0 at the Ameritas Players Challenge. The Chicago, Ill., native earned all-tournament team recognition.
It marks the first weekly conference honor of Caffey’s career. NU’s last Defensive Player of the Week honoree was Kenzie Knuckles in November 2019.
