UNK VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS HASTINGS
The now fourth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team had kills from seven different players to sweep Hastings College Monday night at the Health & Sports Center.
UNK improves to 10-1 while the Broncos remain at 11-6 as this was an exhibition match per NAIA rules. The Lopers also moved to 52-8-1 all-time against their longtime rivals.
UNK heads to Newman and Central Oklahoma this weekend.
LOPER FOOTBALL CLIMBS TO No. 16 IN COACHES POLL
The UNK Football team has risen to No. 16 in the latest D2 Coaches Poll. After winning their first three games, including on the road at Pittsburg State and last week over then No. 29 Washburn, the Lopers jumped from No. 23 to seven spots up in the poll.
UNK prepares for a trip to Warrensburg as the Lopers take on Central Missouri on Saturday.
HUSKER VOLLEYBALL PREPARES FOR BIG TEN OPENER
The No. 12 Nebraska volleyball team turns its attention to Big Ten play this Wednesday, visiting Northwestern. First serve is set for 8 p.m.The match can be seen on BTN and heard on the Husker Radio Network on KGFW with pregame starting at 7:30 p.m.
Nebraska plays host to Iowa on Saturday, Sept. 25, with first serve set for 2 p.m. at the Devaney Center.
LEGACY STATUE VANDALIZED OUTSIDE OF MEMORIAL STADIUM
The Legacy Statue depicting a host of football players tackling a ball carrier outside of Memorial Stadium was subjected to vandalism via a white spray paint covering the faces of the players and white spray painted smiley faces on their backs.
In a statement, Lincoln Police captain John Backer said that the vandalism could be related to vandalism that was reported at the Phi Gamma Delta – or FIJI – fraternity house that also had been spray-painted white. The incidents occurred around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday.
The damages done to the statue have been estimated at $2000.
FROST – MICHIGAN STATE WILL BE A FIST-FIGHT
The Huskers enter another Big Ten matchup as they prepare for Michigan State on Saturday. The newly Top 25 minted Spartans have had a fast start at 4-0.

The comments were made after senior Tight End Austin Allen was quoted as saying that Frost was quicker to make changes in mistakes in the week of preparation leading to Oklahoma.
