HUSKER VOLLEYBALL TAKES DOWN NORTHWESTERN
The No. 12 Nebraska volleyball team got back on track Wednesday night, opening Big Ten play with a 3-1 win over Northwestern.
Madi Kubik powered her way to a season-best 19 kills to lead the match and added nine digs, a solo block and an ace
The third set was the first set Northwestern has taken from the Huskers since 2013. Nebraska had previously swept the last eight matches.
Nebraska welcomes Iowa on Saturday with first serve set for 2 p.m. at the Devaney Center.
MICHIGAN STATE WANTING TO AVOID SEA OF RED
Michigan State is off to a surprisingly hot start as they are 3-0 and No. 20 in the nation. The Spartans have their first big home game this week as they host Nebraska under the lights.
Head coach Mel Tucker does not want to see any more Husker red than the allotted tickets the Huskers asked for, which is around 2,500.
Husker fans took that as a challenge on social media. Tucker was the previous head coach at Colorado when Nebraska faithful overtook Colorado fans in Folsom Field.
NEBRASKA/MICHIGAN STATE TO HONOR FOLTZ and SADLER
Michigan State and Nebraska will honor Sam Foltz and Mike Sadler prior to kickoff of Saturday’s game in East Lansing. Mike’s mother, Karen & sister Katie along with Sam’s parents (Jill/Gerald) will participate in the coin toss. Saturday is the first time Nebraska has played at Michigan State since the 2016 accident.
HUSKER FOOTBALL OPENS THREE GAME TICKET PACKAGE
With five more games in Memorial Stadium this season for the Nebraska Football team, the Huskers have opened a new three game mini plan for fans to attend contests.
The three game plan allows fans to select three of the five upcoming Big Ten contests for a total of $195 for one ticket to each contest.
Games in the plan include Northwestern on Oct. 2, Michigan on Oct. 9, Purdue on Oct. 30, Ohio State on Nov. 6, and Iowa on Friday, Nov. 26.

STORM ANNOUNCE ROSTER FOR UPCOMING SEASON
The Tri-City Storm has announced its opening night roster ahead of the 2021-2022 season. The roster includes twenty-seven total players. The roster consists of players on the Storm’s twenty-five-man protected list, affiliate list, and injured reserve.
The Storm’s roster is comprised of sixteen forwards, nine defensemen, and two goaltenders. Tri-City’s complete roster can be found online at www.StormHockey.com/StormRoster.
Tri-City begins regular season play Thursday, at the 2021 DICK’S Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.
NEBRASKA SOFTBALL SET FOR FALL SCHEDULE
The Nebraska softball team begins its fall season this weekend, which will include one scrimmage and six home games.
The Huskers have their final intrasquad scrimmage tonight at Bowlin Stadium with first pitch set for 3:45 p.m. The Scarlet and Cream scrimmage is open to the public and admission is free.
NU will kick off the fall season at Bowlin Stadium with a double-header against UNO on Sunday, Sept. 26, and a double-header against Missouri on Sunday, Oct.3, both starting at Noon.
All fall games will take place at Bowlin Stadium and are free admission.
LUBICK – CONFIDENT IN RUNNING BACKS
The Nebraska backfield has had a rotating door of running backs so far this season: freshman Gabe Ervin started the season opener, transfer Markese Stepp rushed for 100 yards against Fordham, Rahim Johnson and Sevion Morrison both saw significant carries and snaps against Oklahoma, and Jaquez Yant shined in the Spring Game.
