HUSKER VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS HAWKEYES
The No. 9 Nebraska volleyball team notched its ninth straight win Wednesday night on the road, sweeping Iowa 3-0 at Xtream Arena. The Huskers maintain their hold on the top spot in the Big Ten with a record of 15-3 and remain undefeated in the Big Ten at 9-0.
Madi Kubik led the Huskers in kills for the ninth straight match, totaling 13 alongside five digs and two blocks. Lauren Stivrins joined her in double figures with a season-high-tying 11 kills
Nebraska leads the all-time series with Iowa 35-0, including 22-0 in the John Cook era. The Huskers have registered sweeps in four straight meetings with the Hawkeyes.
Nebraska takes on No. 7 Purdue on Saturday, Oct. 23, with first serve set for 8 p.m. at the Devaney Center. The match will be televised on Big Ten Network and on KGFW across the Husker Radio Network.

HUSKER PRACTICE SCHEDULE
The Huskers are currently on their first bye week of the season this week, and are only allotted two practices per NCAA guidelines.
Nebraska practiced on Tuesday and Wednesday with a full week of preparation set for Monday to gear up for Purdue.
UNK CROSS COUNTRY NATIONAL RANKED, HOSTS MIAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Nebraska-Kearney and Kearney Country Club host the 2021 MIAA Cross Country Championships this Saturday
This is the first time Loper cross country has hosted a league championship meet at the NCAA Division Il level. UNK and KCC hosted NCAA Central/North Central Regionals in 2017, 2008 and 1997.
No admission will be charged for the two races. Weather permitting, the women’s 6k starts at 11:30 a.m. with the men running an 8k at 12:15 p.m

HUSKER FOOTBALL TICKETS BUY-ONE, GET-ONE
Nebraska Athletics is giving a new deal to fans for the Halloween contest against Purdue on Oct. 30.
The Huskers are promoting a new “Buy-One, Get-One” ticket package for the matchup with the Boilermakers. The deal only lasts until Friday at 10 AM.

Reserved single-game tickets for Nebraska women’s basketball at Pinnacle Bank Arena are $15 per ticket, while adult general admission tickets are $10 per game.
Nebraska tips off its 2021-22 home schedule by playing host to Midland University in an exhibition game at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Monday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m.
UNK VOLLEYBALL SQUASHES EMPORIA
The 16th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team served up 12 aces to sweep Emporia State Tuesday night in Emporia.
Playing a third straight Tuesday night road match, the Lopers improved to 16-5 and took the season series from the Hornets. UNK also won a third straight match in three sets.
UNK has a key home match with Central Oklahoma on Friday. The Bronchos downed Pittsburg State in Edmond Tuesday to remain in fourth place in the MIAA. The Lopers are in fifth and fell to UCO in four sets earlier this season.
UNK WOMEN’S BASKETBALL RANKED No. 4 PRESEASON
The World Exposure Report has the UNK Women’s Basketball team ranked at No. 4 in their preseason Top 25 in Division 2.
UNK was voted to finish third in the MIAA by the conference’s coaches poll, behind Central Missouri and Fort Hays State. The UNK Women finished as MIAA Conference Tournament champions and won their first game of the NCAA Tournament last spring.
HASTINGS COLLEGE EARNS TWO OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Two Broncos were named to the GPAC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Keegan Goracke-Johnson, a senior, from Firth, Nebraska, had one of his most productive weeks as a Bronco, scoring two goals while picking up an assist this past week to help Hastings to a 1-0-1 record.
Dekota Schubert, a sophomore, from Castle Rock, Colorado, was instrumental in Hastings going 2-0 last week. She scored two goals against Doane and then scored the game winner against Concordia in the 88th minute for that 1-0 victory. She leads the team with 10 goals this season.
