Kearney was riding high off of a win over Grand Island the previous night 56-13 and wanted to make it two in a row on Saturday night over the Omaha South Packers who entered the contest at 3-13 on the season.

Omaha South opened the contest with a three point play made by Skye Giddings but it was all Kearney after that moment. After going down 3-0, Kearney proceeded onto a 26-0 run that elevated them to their first quarter lead. The Bearcats were led in scoring in the first by Kaleigh Hatcher and Kierstynn Garner with 7 points each, while Kennidy Garner and Haidyn Skeen each added four as well.

Omaha South was able to add ten more points in the second quarter, but Kearney again outpaced the Packers 16-13 in the second and 12-8 in the third. The Bearcats reserves saw plenty of action in the second half as Kearney once again handled an opponent and won 67-33 over Omaha South.

The win makes Kearney 11-8 on the season as they look forward to taking on Lincoln North Star on Friday night at Kearney High School. Kearney had contributions from Kaleigh Hatcher with 16 points, Kennidy and Kierstynn Garner ended with 9, Tatum Rusher had 8, Skeen finished with 7, Dutenhoffer had 6, Maddy Province had 4, Paige Mailahn ended with 3, and Harley Straka finished with 3 while Kelsey Hatcher ended with 2.
