ALBERTS – NCAA INVESTIGATION COMING TO A NEGOTIATED RESOLUTION:

The NCAA investigation into Nebraska football, which popped up as a headline in the fall camp of 2021, is apparently getting closer to a resolution.

Asked by a fan about where it stands, Alberts said he couldn’t talk much about it stating, “…we’re working on a negotiated resolution and I think we’re getting close to the finish line. …Proud of the team, proud of Coach Frost, proud of the collaboration with the NCAA.”

The NCAA investigation was reportedly in regards to Nebraska allegedly having improper use of analysts and consultants during practices and games. It surfaced last August from a report from The Action Network. Alberts responded then that Nebraska would cooperate fully with any investigation.

ALBERTS – CHANGES TO MEMORIAL STADIUM FACES LIMITATIONS

Nebraska Athletic Director Trev Alberts spoke on Sports Nightly on Thursday night and said athletic officials are digging into Memorial Stadium and fan experience surveys sent out in January.

Improved seat comfort and better Wi-Fi stood out as tasks to improve for fan experience.

Addressing seat comfort won’t be the easiest task in a stadium about to turn 100 years old next year. Alberts got into some of the specific issues, including in his explanation terms like “tread depth” and how certain things that might seem like quick fixes wouldn’t necessarily meet code or be structurally safe.
