UNK Students and Faculty members set up hygiene kits for Ukrainian refugees, Thursday.
The political science majors lead the project that will benefit more than 150 refugees fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.
A total of over 160 hygiene kits were created, and additional items not included to the kits will be donated to Orphan Grain Train, a Norfolk nonprofit that sends aid to people in need.
Haley Mazour, a UNK Senior and leader of the Locke and Key Society, a campus club that organized the ordeal said, “The fact that a huge group of people got together in central Nebraska to help people all the way across the world – out of the kindness of their own hearts, just because it’s the right thing to do – I think that’s a really beautiful thing.”
