Talk of the Town was joined by new Downtown Coordinator Kelsey Anderson this morning, who shared her excitement about being apart of downtown, along with getting gears ready for this weekend.
When asked about how it’s been visiting many of the business downtown for the first time in the position, Kelsey has had a pretty good time.
“It is a lot of fun and I did not realize, I grew up in Shelton so I’ve been around Kearney my whole life, but I didn’t realize how many businesses are downtown. Like a lot. A lot of people are missing out because they don’t come downtown very often. They don’t know there are a lot of hidden gems downtown here.”
Although downtown this year will hold the same events, Kelsey says she does have plans of her own.
“I’ve got so many ideas up in my head of what I want to do in the future. For this year for the first set of events, I’m just gonna try to play it a little safe. But in the future I plan to add a bunch of new ideas to downtown Kearney.”
Kelsey will be coordinating another great year of A Taste of Downtown, that’ll be held Saturday June 18, 2022 from 10am-10pm.
Some participating businesses involved are Bricks, Copperfield, The Cup , Gilles, The Cigar Bar, Cunningham’s Journal and more.
