The USDA want to remind agricultural producer the deadline to file crop acreage reports is approaching and set for July 15. Those who have not already done so, should contact their US Department of Agricultural Farms Service Agency to set an appointment ahead of the deadline.
Nebraska FSA State Executive Director Jon Berge says “Filing an accurate and timely acreage report for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage and prevented planted acreage, can prevent the loss of benefits”
The acreage certification deadline is July 15 2022 and includes crops such as corn, soybeans, dry edible bean and sugar beets. Additionally, acres of perennial grass and pastures in the conservation reserve program.
Producers also should report crop acreage they intended to plant, but were unable to plant due to natural disaster. Prevented planting acreage must be reported on form CCC-576, Notice of Loss, no later than 15 calendar days after the final planting date.
Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) policy holders should note that the acreage reporting date for NAP-covered crops is the earlier of the date listed above or 15 calendar days before grazing or harvesting of the crop begins.
