The Henry Doorly Zoo announced in a Facebook post Friday that the Lee G. Simmons Aviary, as well as other birds exhibits will be reopening again for visitors.
The Simmons aviary and bird exhibits throughout the zoo had been closed for four months, since March 3 2022 due to the highly contagious bird flu that had been devastating poultry farms in the U.S..
But now the birds have returned and not only will the Lee G. Simmons show their avian friends again, but as well as the Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park in Ashland, Nebraska off Exit 426.
