A man from Kearney is facing charges for threatening to harm a family member with a firearm, Wednesday.
36 year old Cory Kreider is charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, terroristic threats, and child abuse, among other charges. At around 4pm Wednesday, police responded to a home in Kearney for a disturbance involving a handgun.
Upon arriving on the scene, police learned Kreider had left. After an investigation, officers learned that Kreider had gotten into an argument with a family member, grabbing a handgun and threatening to harm himself. Upon learning police would be called, Kreider threatened to harm the woman calling in the presence of a 6 year old boy.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Kreider is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
