Red Willow Western Firefighters and mutual aid are still continuing to battle two wildfires.

At about 12:30am this Friday morning Red Willow Western Rural Fire department said through a Facebook post work will continue for the mile marker 26 fire, which has already burned over 700 acres.

The smaller road 383 fire has burned over 35 acres as of Thursday.

Residents are asked to stay north of the dam area, and to not travel south of the dam and into burned areas.

 

Mutual aid has been called from Maywood, McCook Curtis, Hayes County, Culbertson to start off along with the Nebraska game and parks personnel and later from Indianola, Bartley Beaver valley, Decatur county, Holbrook/Edison/Arapahoe, Cambridge, Stratton, Wauneta, Palisade, Trenton and Benkelman.
