A new senator will be appointed and sworn in today by Governor Pete Ricketts.
The new senator will represent District 19, to fill the vacancy left by Mike Flood, who was chosen to represent the Nebraska first Congressional District in the House of Representatives.
The new appointee will serve the remainder of the unexpired term for District 19 until January 2025.
District 19 represents Madison County and the southern portion of Pierce County. A map of the district can be found by clicking here.
The event will take place in the Governor’s Hearing Room, Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln, NE at 10am. The press conference will be livestreamed on NebraskaPublicMedia.org/live.
