CHINANDER – TANNOR LOOKING EXPLOSIVE SO FAR:

Tannor is one of the veteran edge rushers returning this fall for Nebraska, while the Huskers also bring Garrett Nelson and TCU transfer Ochaun Mathis into the Blackshirts fold.
CHINANDER – INSTALL PRACTICES ARE FINISHED; TIME TO GET BETTER:
The Nebraska defense has a lot of expectations for the upcoming season after a strong showing in 2021. Defensive coordinator Erik Chinander spoke after Friday’s practice about what the first few days of camp looked like last week…

Fisher continued by saying that he has given returning veteran Quenton Newsome to “dominate college football” this upcoming season.
WILLIAMS DECOMMITS FROM HUSKERS:
Ashley Williams has de-committed from Nebraska, making the announcement on Sunday after a weekend visit to Auburn.
The edge defender from Zachary, Louisiana, had committed to the Huskers three Sundays ago, but there was some uncertainty about where things stood as Williams took a visit to the Auburn program this weekend. Williams cited a lack of communication and recent events for the change.
Williams had 89 tackles, including 22 for losses and 14 sacks in the 2021 season, with his recruiting stock quickly growing in the months that followed.
NBA LEGEND BILL RUSSELL DIES AT 88:
The most prolific winner in NBA history, Bill Russell marched with Martin Luther King Jr., stood with Muhammad Ali and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama. The centerpiece of the Boston Celtics dynasty that won 11 championships in 13 years, Russell earned his last two NBA titles as a player-coach — the first Black coach in any major U.S. sport.
Russell passed away Sunday morning at the age of 88. No cause of death was immediately available; Russell, who had been living in the Seattle area, was not well enough to present the NBA Finals MVP trophy in June due to a long illness.
A Hall of Famer, five-time Most Valuable Player and 12-time All-Star, Russell in 1980 was voted the greatest player in the NBA history by basketball writers.
