Firefighters still continue to battle a blaze near Gering, Nebraska that has burned over 13,000 acres and engulfed a few homes.
According to Region 22 Emergency Management Director Tim Newman, 35 or so volunteer fire departments have shown on the scene to battle the blaze that was 30% contained as of Sunday evening.
3 homes have been destroyed as of this morning, with 7 others damaged.
The fire originally sparked from Lightning catching the dry brush of the panhandle ablaze.
Mandatory evacuation orders for Carter Canyon Rd and County Road 16 just south of Gering have been ordered.
