The University of Nebraska at Kearney will be holding its annual Blue and Gold Showcase and kick-off the school year Friday, August 19.
The Blue and Gold Showcase is scheduled Friday from 5-8pm near the Bell Tower and Cope Fountain. It is one of UNK’s largest events drawing 2,000 to 3,000 students, staff, faculty and community members.
About 160 businesses and organizations will be involved in the event, and a picnic will be held from 5-7:30pm with UNK Chancellor Doug Kristensen.
There will be games, activities, product giveaways, live music and more. The event is open and free to the public.
The day will end with a performance from The Pride of the Plains Marching Band at 7:30-8 p.m. Friday at Foster Field.
