Troopers arrested an Illinois man following a Wednesday morning pursuit.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol a Nissan Vera was observed speeding over 100 miles per hour on I-80 near Lexington. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver refused to yield, a pursuit was then initiated.
During the pursuit the driver reached speed of up to 120 miles per hour while passing other motorists on the shoulder. A trooper successfully deployed stop sticks, but the driver refused to stop. Another trooper successfully brought the driver to a stop after preforming a tactical vehicle intervention.
The driver, Frederick McGee, 23, of Chicago, Illinois, was taken into custody. Troopers also located 16 pounds of marijuana inside a duffel bag in the trunk of the car.
McGee was arrested for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, possession of marijuana – more than one pound, possession with intent to deliver, and other charges. He was lodged in Dawson County Jail.
