Local Kearney COSMOS and Sertoma Clubs are celebrating constitution day by provide K-12 students a copy of the constitution.
Constitution day lands on Saturday September 17, 2022, but COSMOS and Sertoma are celebrating early by providing students of participating schools their own copy of the constitution.
“The Constitution is one of the most important documents in United States history,” said Pete Kotsiopulos, a 51-year member of the Sertoma Club. “We wanted every student in Kearney to understand why America is such an amazing country.”
Participating schools include Kearney Public Schools, Faith Christian School, and Kearney Catholic School.
“Our goal is for children to understand the powers of our government and ‘we the people’,” explained Tom Henning, Cosmos member. “Cosmos is a club that likes to focus on the youth and education and Constitution Day seemed like a perfect fit.”
