Kearney Public Library and the UNK History Department will be holding another History Brown Bag lunch series this month titled, “Welcoming the Uninvited: Victorian Era Spiritualism, Seances, and Charlatans.”
Attendees will learn about the Victorian eras fascination with death, the popularity of lockets of hairs, how some individuals made quick cash contacting the “other side” and much more.
The event will be presented by Director of the G.W. Frank Museum of History and Culture, April White at the Kearney Public Library Wednesday Oct. 12 from noon to 1pm.
The program is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch.
The next History Brown Bag lunch series is scheduled for November 9.
