The 37th annual Nebraska State Bandmasters Association (NSBA) State Marching Band Competition will take place in Kearney on October 22 at Kearney High School. The NSBA selects three sites in Nebraska to host this event each year, and this is the fifth year in a row that Kearney High School has been chosen to host this event.

With over 6,500 spectators and band students in average attendance per year, NSBA is one of the most highly anticipated events of the marching band season across the state. It is also the largest event held at Kearney High School each year. NSBA is the culmination of a season’s hard work, and the final competition of the marching season. Twenty-one schools from across the state will be performing.

The award-winning Kearney Bearcat Marching Band will cap off its season with a final performance of its Egyptian-themed show, “The Journey of Ra,” on Saturday evening at 8:45pm. The band is under the direction of Nathan LeFeber and Rick Mitchell.
