A bat tested positive for rabies last week in Grand Island.
The animal, which tested positive is 1 of only 20 that have tested positive for rabies in Nebraska this year, 17 of which were bats as well.
No known people have come in contact with the infected animal. The Central District Health Department reminds citizens to exercise caution around wildlife or unknown animals.
If you believe to have been scratched or bitten by a rabid animal see a healthcare provider immediately.
