A Grand Island man was arrested following a pursuit Monday.
At around 7 pm Monday, GIPD officers observed a vehicle drive through a red light while traveling through the intersection of 3rd and Eddy streets. Officers attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle began to speed away.
GIPD decided to discontinue the pursuit after the vehicle turned south on Greenwich St. The suspect was later located running from the vehicle, and as law enforcement attempted to contact the driver, the male ran through a backyard.
The driver, Adrian Gonzalez of Grand Island was soon taken into custody. Gonzalez was arrested for failure to stop, flight to avoid arrest, driving during revocation, and obstruction.
