The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a vehicle-pedestrian fatality crash that occurred in Sheridan County Saturday.
At around 8 pm mountain time Saturday, NSP was alerted by Sheridan County Sheriffs of a crash that occurred on Highway 87. Preliminary investigation showed that the pedestrian was walking in the northbound lane of traffic. The driver of the vehicle attempted to slow down and avoid the pedestrian but ended up hitting the person.
The pedestrian, identified as 21-year-old Arrow Merrita Long of South Dakota was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the vehicle suffered minor injuries in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
