A North Platte man charged with sexual assault of a child has been sentenced.
24-year-old Daniel Scollin was sentenced to 10-30 years in prison for attempted first-degree sexual assault.
Scollin plead no contest to the charge in September. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors reduced a charge of first-degree sexual assault of an incompetent person. In addition, a charge of first-degree sexual assault of a child was dropped.
In September of 2021, Lincoln County Sheriff’s responded to the Bridge of Hope on a report of sexual assault of a child. After completing a forensic interview with the child, investigators developed probable cause to arrest Scollin.
