Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens of a popular phishing scam making the rounds once again.
In a post on their Facebook page, they say thieves will target your bank account by sending a text or email stating that your bank account has been suspended.
The Sheriff’s office adds that the message could include a fake link to re-activate the account, which would compromise your information.
BSCO advises that this type of message is likely a scam, and it’s best to check with your bank via a valid phone number before clicking any sort of link.
