A LaVista man has taken a plea deal on charges related to an Alda road rage incident.
Nathan Bowen, 21, was convicted on two counts of misdemeanor third-degree assault, and one charge of misdemeanor reckless driving. Felony weapons charges were dropped in exchange for the plea. A charge of first-degree assault was also lowered to third-degree.
On July 2nd, Bowen was involved in a road rage incident which included brake checking and high speeds on I-80 near Alda. Just south of the Alda exit, Bowen got out of his vehicle with a knife, starting a fight with the occupants of the other vehicle involved. Victor Hernandez, 22, of Greely Colorado was stabbed in the shoulder during the fight. Hernandez had to be airlifted to an Omaha hospital as a result of the injury.
Bowen will be sentenced in February.
