The Nebraska State Patrol held its graduation ceremony today for its 66th Basic Recruit Camp.

The ceremony was held today at the Rotunda in the Capital in Lincoln this morning.

Recruits received their badges with opening remarks provided by Governor Pete Ricketts and Attorney General Doug Peterson.

Governor Pete Ricketts shared his gratitude to graduates for taking this step “Nebraska is proud of your dedication to our state. We look forward to your service in this noble and important profession…..so thank you for taking this step. We’re all proud of you and look forward to your service.”

The following recruits received their badges:

Steven Johnson – Waverly

Ethan Broker – Hayes Center

Dylan Cramer – Merna

Ashley Elrod – Ord

Mark Fluckey – Omaha

Logan Krein – Des Moines, IA

Jonathan Lawarence – Ord

Zachary Matthews – Neola, IA

Anthony McGlade – Bellevue

Kailey Ortiz – Fleming, CO

Lazaro Pena – Grand Island

Zachariah Sporer – Colorado Springs, CO

Justyn Stindt – Belleville, KS

Trysten Whitted – Gretna

And Kearneyite Clarissa Fitzgerald, who was badged by her uncle, retired state trooper Bill Fitzgerald.

The sixteen graduates will begin their careers as Nebraska State Troopers in a variety of communities across the state.
