Alcohol compliance checks were held in Phelps County last week. On Tuesday, December 13th, NSP Troopers checked 10 businesses.
Out of 10, three of the businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a noncompliance rate of 30%. Only one business did not check the minor’s ID. The businesses included convenience stores, restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores, and bars.
Businesses that fail the checks are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.
