A new study from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office says 10% of drivers in the state are distracted.

The results showed that one in ten drivers met on the road are instead focusing on cellphones and digital devices instead. Officials say texting was the most alarming distraction, as at highway speeds, drivers can cover a football field in 5 seconds.

The data also shows that over 10% of drivers were not wearing seatbelts, with over 70% of people killed in crashes in the state not wearing one.
