The Stuhr Museum has achieved reaccreditation from the American Alliance of Museums.
The accreditation is seen as the highest national recognition for museums in the country. The museum was originally accredited by the organization nearly 50 years ago.
All museums must be reviewed at least every 10 years to maintain accredited status. The accreditation shows Stuhr’s commitment to excellence, accountability, professional standards, and institutional improvement.
Out of over 30,000 museums in the country, only around 5,000 are accredited. Stuhr Museum is 1 of 9 in Nebraska.
