Nebraska State Patrol arrested two people following a Sunday pursuit through Hamilton County.

On Sunday authorities arrested driver Travis Fielder, 36, of Grand Island, for an outstanding warrant from Hall County, as well as willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, driving under the influence – drugs, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana – less than one ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, and numerous traffic violations.

Additionally, troopers arrested passenger Brandon Proctor, 36, of Bradshaw, for a probation violation, as well as possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the NSP, at 12:15 a.m. Sunday a Dodge Magnum was seen speeding on I-80 near Aurora. A trooper attempted a traffic stop, however the vehicle refused to yield, and a pursuit was initiated. The trooper discontinued the pursuit out of safety after the vehicle exited the through the Aurora interchange.

The same vehicle was later seen traveling on county roads in rural Aurora. A pursuit was again initiated after the driver, Fielder, refused to yield.

Fielder fled towards Hampton on Highway 34, driving on the wrong side several time until they were brought to a stop through tactical vehicle intervention by a trooper.

Both Fielder and Proctor were both taken into custody without further incident and lodged in Hamilton County Jail.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office assisted in this incident.
