A man died in a crash outside of Litchfield Tuesday.
According to the Sherman County Sheriff’s Office, on January 24 at 10:45 a.m deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident about half mile east of Litchfield, Nebraska on Highway 2.
A Red Ford F250 pickup, driven by R Woolsey of Mason City, Nebraska on Highway 2 collided with a red Mazda B3000 pickup, driven by Fred Nelson, who was entering Highway 2 from Oasis gas station.
Nelson was transported to Good Samaritan in Kearney, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Woolsey was transported and treated for minor injuries.
The Sherman County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Litchfield Fire and Rescue, Ansley Fire and Rescue, and Burlington Northern Railroad employees.
