KEARNEY BASKETBALL HOSTS PIUS FOR TUESDAY NIGHT TILT:

The Kearney High Basketball teams face their toughest home test yet, squaring off with Lincoln Pius tonight at Kearney High School.

The Bearcat girls are looking for revenge from the third place game of the HAC Tournament on New Year’s Eve when Kearney fell to the Thunderbolts 44-33.

The Kearney boys (13-4) look to continue their winning ways taking on a red-hot Pius squad who has only lost once since the start of the new year.

Listen to the contest on KGFW with pregame beginning at 5 PM with tip-off set for 5:15 PM. Tune in on 1340 KGFW, 96.1 FM, on the free KGFW mobile app, and online at KGFW.com with Austin Jacobsen on the call.

NEBRASKA MEN HEAD TO ILLINOIS FOR BIG TEN TILT:

The Nebraska men’s basketball team concludes a whirlwind month of travel on Tuesday, as the Huskers take on the Illinois Fighting Illini. Tipoff from the State Farm Center in Champaign is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be carried on BTN.

The Huskers have spent a good portion of January on the road, as Tuesday’s game at Illinois will be NU’s sixth Big Ten road game this month and wraps up a five-day road trip for the Huskers, who played at Maryland on Saturday and went straight to Champaign.

The Huskers (10-12, 3-8 Big Ten) look to snap a three-game losing streak after an 82-63 loss at Maryland on Sunday.

Illinois (15-6, 6-4 Big Ten) comes into Tuesday’s game winners of six of its last seven games following a 61-51 win at Wisconsin on Saturday.
