KEARNEY – Tri-City Storm forward Dane Dowiak has been named the United States Hockey League’s (USHL) Forward of the Week for the first time in his career following last weekend’s home games at the Viaero Center. Dowiak scored one goal, recorded four assists, for six total points in the Storm’s two-game weekend sweep over the Sioux City Musketeers.

Dane Dowiak, 20, of Wexford, Pennsylvania, has netted seven goals and recorded fourteen assists in thirty-nine games played for the Storm this season. He recorded two assists during the 1st period of Friday’s 4-3 home win over Sioux City. Dowiak scored his seventh goal of the season, and recorded three assists during the Storm’s 4-2 win against the Musketeers on Saturday. He scored at 2:11 of the 2nd period during Saturday’s contest to tie the game at 1-1. He assisted on the Storm’s final two goals of the game, including the game-winning goal. Dowiak was named the 1st Star of the Game in Saturday’s two-goal home win over Sioux City. He finished the weekend with a plus/minus rating of +4. Dowiak scored sixteen goals and notched fourteen assists for thirty total points with Tri-City during the 2021-2022 regular season. He scored one goal and recorded two assists during the team’s run in the 2022 Clark Cup Playoffs. Dowiak was selected 177th overall by Tri-City in the 12th Round of the 2021 USHL Phase II Draft. He made his debut with the Storm on September 23rd, 2021, in Tri-City’s 3-2 overtime victory against the Dubuque Fighting Saints at the 2021 USHL Fall Classic. Dowiak scored his first career goal on October 8th, 2021, in the Storm’s 6-2 home victory over the Waterloo Black Hawks. He previously announced a commitment to play collegiate hockey in the future at Penn State University.
