Two Grand Island men were arrested for their involvement in a Sunday morning shooting.

Grand Island police responded to a report of shooting on the 1000 block of Greenwich St Sunday morning at 1:35 a.m., where officers found a 22-year-old male shot multiple times.

The victim was transported for surgery and was listed stable condition as of Monday.

Police identified Juan Alvarez Jr., 21, as the person who fired the shots at the victim, and Jose Contreras Estrada, 21, in aiding in the incident.

Two unrelated vehicles had also sustained damage from gunshots.

Estrada transported Alvarez to and from the scene and later assisted Alvarez in hiding the gun.

Alvarez was charged with 1st degree assault, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and two counts of criminal mischief.

Contreras was charged for accessory to a felony.
