A Grand Island man was sentenced in Federal Court for firearm and drug trafficking crimes.
Mark Barraza Saenz, 22, was sentenced yesterday to 11 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance to a drug crime.
In October 2021, Merrick County Sheriff’s office performed a traffic stop on Barraza Saenz’s vehicle. Saenz admitted to smoking marijuana an hour earlier. Upon searching Saenz, officers found two bundles of methamphetamine. A search of the vehicle revealed another bag of meth and a handgun.
Lab tests confirmed the bags found on Saenz and the vehicle contained around 209 grams of methamphetamine.
