KEARNEY – The Nebraska-Kearney and Hastings College track & field teams co-host the annual Central Nebraska Challenge this Saturday, April 1, at Kearney High.

The large non-team scoring meet begins at 11 a.m. with field events and should wrap up around 8:45 p.m. Track events are slated to start at 2 p.m. The complete schedule can be found here with fans not in attendance being able to follow along with live results at www.lopertiming.com.

Around 15 schools are sending complete teams or select student-athletes. That group includes Creighton, Nebraska Omaha, South Dakota State, Northwestern (Iowa), Wayne State and Fort Hays.

UNK began spring last weekend at the annual Emporia State Relays in Kansas. The Loper won five events with Brayden Sorensen (high jump) and throwers Lily Novacek (hammer), Rylan Basart (javelin) and Jaida McEwen (javelin) all having NCAA provisional efforts.
