KEARNEY – The Tri-City Storm is set for this weekend’s two-game home series against the Sioux Falls Stampede after completing a three-game home sweep over the league-leading Fargo Force at the Viaero Center last weekend. Tonight’s game will feature a $5 Kids’ Friday presented by Big Apple Fun Center in Kearney. The season-long promotion features discounted Kids’ tickets for Friday home games. Kids are encouraged to visit the purple tent on the Viaero Center concourse during the game to collect their coupon for 50% off 1-hour of bowling (Restrictions Apply). Tomorrow’s game will serve as the Storm’s annual Youth Hockey Night, presented by the Tri-City Youth Ice Hockey Association. Tri-City (29-18-3-3) remains the USHL’s Western Conference 4th place team with nine games left in the 2022-2023 regular season following Wednesday afternoon’s 3-2 road loss to the Lincoln Stars at the Ice Box. Trevor Connelly, and Alex Bump, each netted a goal for the Storm during the contest. Tri-City is two points from clinching a spot in the 2023 edition of the Clark Cup Playoffs. The Storm will secure a place in the postseason with a Regulation Win, Overtime Win, or Shootout Win in tonight’s home game against the Stampede. Scoring leaders for Tri-City entering tonight’s fifty-fourth game of the regular season include Jake Richard (28), Graham Gamache (18), Trevor Connelly (17), Evan Werner (17), Kieran Cebrian (14), and Dane Dowiak (14). Sioux Falls (21-26-4-3) enters tonight’s game at the Viaero Center in possession of the sixth and final playoff spot in the USHL’s Western Conference. The Stampede currently hold a three-point advantage over the Des Moines Buccaneers. Sioux Falls has posted back-to-back wins entering tonight’s road game, and has produced a 5-5-0-0 record in the past ten games. The Stampede defeated the Omaha Lancers by a final score of 6-3 Sunday evening in a home game at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Clint Levens (2), Isaac Gordon, Alexander Rybakov, Jaksen Panzer, and Adam Zlinka netted goals for Sioux Falls in the victory. Scoring leaders for the Stampede entering tonight’s road game against the Storm include Samuel Harris (25), Isaac Gordon (16), Maddox Fleming (13), Nick Ring (12), Jaksen Panzer (12), Will McDonough (12), and Chris Pelosi (12).
