LINCOLN – The Bearcats improved their weekly record to 2-1 after taking game one of their double dual at Lincoln’s Densmore Fields, earning a run rule 10-0 win over the Lincoln High Links Saturday morning.
Kearney (5-8) scored ten runs off of eleven hits with no errors. The Links scored no runs on three hits with three errors.
Rhett Mundorf did not allow a single run, throwing a complete game shutout and securing the victory. Beau Skala, Griffin Novacek, Kegan Brand, Garrison Burns, and Kaleb Larson all contributed in the third inning as Kearney belted in seven runs.
Mundorf ended with five strikeouts.
The Bearcats await Lincoln North Star for game two of the double dual with first pitch scheduled around 12:30 PM.
