LINCOLN – The Kearney Bearcats Baseball team fell to Lincoln North Star on the final play of the game 10-9 Saturday afternoon at Lincoln’s Densmore Fields as part of their double dual this weekend.

The Bearcats (5-9) earned nine runs off of fifteen hits with three errors. North Star won with ten runs on seven hits and two errors.

North Star trailed 9-6 entering the seventh inning when Kade Seip knocked down a home run, blasting in four runs as the Bearcats fell for the ninth time this season.

Kearney’s Gavin Goodner took the loss for the Bearcats, allowing two hits and five runs while adding a strikeout. Kole Throckmorton, Karter Lee, Nolan Smith, Griffin Novacek, and Beau Skala each earned multiple hits on the day.

The Bearcats await the HAC Tournament beginning on Tuesday, April 12 as No. 8 Kearney faces No. 9 Norfolk at Lincoln’s Den Hartog Field at 12 PM.
