KEARNEY – The 31st Annual Mr. Basketball and Miss Basketball Kearney Senior All-Star games are set for Sunday, June 4 at the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Health and Sports Center.
Several local athletes will be represented in the contests. The Girls Blue Team is led by Coach Patrick Ropers from Hi-Line. Area athletes competing for the Blue team include: Ravenna’s Morgyn Fiddelke, Tori Sklenar, and Kennedy Hurt; Axtell’s Lexie Eckhoff, Wilcox-Hildreth’s Sarah Jensen, and Shelton’s Makenna Willis.
The Girls Red team is led by Laethion Brown from Centura. Area athletes competing for the Red team include: Kearney Catholic’s Jenna Kruse, Kearney High’s Tatum Rusher and Maddy Province; Pleasanton’s Regan Weisdorfer, Elm Creek’s Lani Meier, and Ella Luther of Overton.
The Boys Blue squad will be coached by the Kearney Bearcats Drake Beranek. Area athletes competing for the boys blue team include: Zach Lewandowski of Ravenna; Scout Simmons of Amherst; and Jack Dahlgren of Kearney High.
The Boys Red team is led by Minden Whippet coach Carson Blum. Area athletes on the roster include: Landon Edeal of Kearney Catholic, Jackson Hinrichs of Holdrege, Wes Trompke of Loomis, Kellen Eggleston of SEM, and Caleb Paulk of Wood River.
